Outerchange

In the Outerchange, players have the option of forming squadrons. Each player Handle may form and name one squadron, of which he is the Squad Leader. This player can then add/remove other players to his/her squadron. Players may belong to more than one squadron at a time, however, each player may only "own" one squadron.

Squadrons are persistent, meaning that player Ownership and membership is maintained between sessions and across all servers. Like players, Squadrons have their own scoring, and ability to conduct business within the Outerchange Economy (see Outerchange).

When players flying for the same Squad log-in to the Outerchange, they are automatically placed on the same team, and allied to one another. The dispositions of other Squads towards the player is set by the status of the Inter-Squad Treaties that are present.

Players may only fly in one squadron at a time in the Outerchange or Battlezone.

Campaign

n the Campaign, squadrons are based off carriers or bases, flying their missions together. When Campaign missions are run, they will be run at the squadron level. Campaign staff will assign players and squadrons to ships and bases within the appropriate locations

Players can petition to enter Outerchange Squadrons into the Campaign as a pre-formed unit one the Campaign is underway. Squadrons in the Campaign are always assigned to only one nation, and will be numerically limited, meaning a all of a large Outerchange squadron could not become a Campaign squadron in toto.

5.3 Squadron Interface

Squad Manager Window: Messages
Creating a Squadron
Invite and Solicit: Search and send
Join and Deny: Squad Actions and Messages

Overview

The Main Squadron Interface is accessed from the Station, using the Squadrons tab. This will pop up the Squad Manager window to allow you to, join a squadron, ask to join a squadron, and manage the squadron you can create for this handle.

Squad Manager Window: Messages

The Squad Manager Window is a pop-up window that allows complete management of your squadron and interaction with other squadrons.

Creating a Squadron

To create your own Squadron Manger, select the Handle which you want to be the Squadron Leader for the Squadron. Then Click on the "New Squadron" button. This will give you a New Squadron Dialog box. Use this box to name your new Squadron. Each handle may only be Squad Leader for one Squad at a time. This means that in order to create a new squadron, you must retire the Squadron you currently lead, or hand its leadership to another handle.

As a member of any level other than Squad Leader your handle may belong to as many squadrons as you can get accept into.

Invite and Solicit: Search and Send

Using the Squad Manager allows you to request to join a squadron or ask a player to join yours. Use the Search mechanism to search for a Squad name or Player Handle.

To Solicit a Squad for membership, search for the squadron using the Search Mechanism. Then select that squadron with your mouse from the Search Results window, and press the "Solicit" button at the bottom of the window.

To Invite a Player to Join your Squadron, search for the player handle using the Search Mechanism. Then select that player handle with your mouse from the Search Results window, and press the "Invite" button at the bottom of the window.

Join and Deny: Squad Actions and Messages

The Squadron Messages Window allows your to see actions that have occurred in relationship to your squadron. Often these messages tell you someone has joined or left a squad you are on (not necessarily the one you lead). These messages can also be triggers for actions. If you are invited to join a squadron, the message will appear here, as well if someone asks to join your squadron.

To Accept an Invitation to a Squadron, select the message with your mouse and click on the "Accept" button at the bottom of the window

To Deny an Invitation to a Squadron, select the message with your mouse and click on the "Deny" button at the bottom of the window

To Accept a Solicitation to a Squadron, select the message with your mouse and click on the "Accept" button at the bottom of the window

To Deny a Solicitation to a Squadron, select the message with your mouse and click on the "Deny" button at the bottom of the window

Using the "Deny Invites" or "Deny Solicitations" will automatically Deny all initiations to join squadrons, or solicitations to join your squadron respectively.
